About the Course
Step into a world of imagination, tension, and cinematic creativity in this high-energy Sci-Fi & Suspense Filmmaking Camp! In this camp, students will experience the full production pipeline and transform ideas into screen-ready stories using professional tools and techniques. Throughout the week, they will develop scripts and storyboards, learn how to build atmosphere through lighting and sound design, and use camera techniques like dynamic angles, motivated camera movement, and dramatic framing to heighten suspense. They’ll work with green-screen effects and simple special effects to craft eerie visuals that bring their worlds to life. Working in production teams, students will operate cameras, set up scenes, record clean dialogue and foley, and use editing software to cut scenes, add transitions, layer sound, and color-grade for mood. By the end of the week, each team will have polished short film projects to premiere and celebrate with the class!
