About the Course
Minecraft is more than just a top-selling PC game. It’s a perfect platform for aspiring media creators who enjoy exploring, designing, planning and engineering creative digital projects. In this camp, students will use Minecraft as a virtual film studio to produce a series of short films in a style known as “Machinima”. Students will progress through all three stages of film production, telling short narrative stories with Minecraft characters as the stars. Students will build their own sets, write their own scripts, screen record their own footage “in game,” record voice overs, and edit their footage into a final short film using Apple iMovie. This camp marries the art of gaming and filmmaking, creating a unique learning experience that improves creative thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and confidence.
