Stop motion animation is an advanced flip-book-style form of animation. It creates the illusion of movement by photographing objects frame-by-fame in different positions and playing the sequence of images in rapid succession. In this hands-on animation camp, young creators will learn the technical skills behind stop motion filmmaking while experimenting with a variety of fun and imaginative animation styles. They will use the Stop Motion Studio app to produce original short films featuring their own handmade characters and sets. They will discover how movement, timing, and creativity work together to transform simple ideas into animated stories. Each day introduces new skills and techniques that build upon what they’ve learned before, helping them grow as animators throughout the week. By the end of camp, every student will have a collection of finished stop motion films to showcase, along with the confidence and know-how to keep creating at home!
