MINECRAFT MAZE MAKER
Let’s make a maze! This workshop is designed for young Minecraft fans who are eager to unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills. Students will dive into the world of Minecraft: Java Edition, where they will learn the fundamentals of maze design and construction. Working both individually and in teams, students will craft intricate mazes filled with twists, turns, and surprises. MINECRAFT FILM SET BUILDER
Lights, camera, action! Participants will design and build intricate movie sets within Minecraft: Java Edition. They'll learn about set design, storytelling, and the elements that make a great movie scene. Working both individually and in teams, students will construct detailed sets inspired by their favorite films or their own imaginations. As they bring their movie sets to life, they'll develop skills in creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Whether your child is a Minecraft novice or a seasoned player, they will find plenty of opportunities to learn, play, and make new friends.

GAMEMAKER DEVELOPER
During this workshop, students will be introduced to GameMaker and use its built-in coding language to create an Idle Clicker game, similar to Cookie Clicker. They will learn essential skills such as detecting player input and adjusting variables over time. Students will also have the opportunity to design custom art for their game and craft particle effects to add depth and visual appeal. Throughout the workshop, students will gain hands-on experience with game design, programming concepts, and creative customization.

UNITY QUEST DESIGNER
In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to design and create quests for a top-down RPG. They will modify existing variables to craft quests with various objectives, such as combat or collection-based tasks. Students will apply key programming concepts to introduce a new feature: quest prerequisites, enabling them to develop interconnected storylines across multiple quests. Throughout the workshop, students will explore effective quest structure and learn how to customize the game’s overworld to enhance player experience, gaining hands-on experience in both coding and game design.

3D MODELING
3D Modeling is a form of art that is widely used across many industries and is a very sought after career. Architects, engineers, healthcare professionals, educators and many more can all take advantage of this art form. However, it is more often known for its impact in the entertainment world. Video games, movies, and TV shows all use 3D models to build worlds, characters, and environments. In this workshop, students will use Tinkercad, an online 3D design and modeling tool, to practice fundamentals like designing shapes, scaling, rotating, and combining objects to build complex models. In the end, students will have a 3D project, a better sense of spatial reasoning, and the foundational knowledge to continue their 3D designs at home.

3D SCULPTING
3D sculpting is a form of 3D modeling similar to traditional clay sculpting, but within a virtual three-dimensional space. It is utilized for organic modeling, in which living things (such as people, creatures, and nature) are created. This type of art allows artists to bring to life characters and environments that leave impactful memories on their audiences. In this workshop, students will apply the tools and concepts of digital sculpting to their own creation. They will use tools and a digital base of clay to shape and structure their 3D model. At the end of the day, they will walk away with an understanding of the different types of 3D modeling, and the importance each one plays to the success of the 3D industry.

UNREAL ITERATIVE DESIGN
Iteration is an important part of game development, allowing everyone to refine ideas and improve experiences through constant testing and adjustments. This workshop introduces students to the iterative design process by utilizing a pre-made first person shooter template. By working hands-on with Unreal Engine’s tools and visual scripting system, students will make their own adjustments and improvements towards the playable template.

UNREAL GAME AUDIO
Sound plays a vital role in creating immersive and engaging experiences. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of game audio using Unreal Engine 5. By integrating sound cues and experimenting with audio spatialization, they’ll discover how audio enhances the gameplay experience.

GAMEMAKER WORLD BUILDING
Life simulation games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing offer a relaxing experience unlike most game genres. They utilize welcoming aesthetics and relatable stories. In this workshop, students will build upon a pre-made cozy narrative template to explore story development. They will craft a basic story that fits with pre-made assets and their level creation. They will also program the character's dialogue. At the end of the workshop, students will have an understanding of how narrative enhances the games we play.

Capture the essence of creativity at our Teens Photography Workshop! GODOT GAME DESIGN
In this workshop, students will explore the Godot game engine, starting with familiarizing themselves with the interface. They will then learn to use Godot’s TileMap system to create level layouts for a 2D tower defense game. Students will interact with and modify variables to adjust gameplay, such as changing enemy spawn rates and tower costs. Additionally, students will discover how to add dynamic effects to enhance the game's visual appeal. Throughout the workshop, students will gain hands-on experience in game development, learning key game design concepts while customizing their tower defense game.

MAKECODE ARCADE
During this workshop, students will use Microsoft MakeCode’s block-based coding platform to learn the basics of game programming and computer science. They will explore game design fundamentals as they customize an existing game, modify variables to adjust gameplay, design level layouts, and create their own custom sprites. Students will also practice core programming skills as they apply computer science concepts. Each game will be playtested to ensure it is both fun and appropriately challenging. Through this hands-on experience, students will gain valuable skills that provide a progression path into real-world programming.

3D MODELING
3D Modeling captivates audiences with its impactful characters and scenes, allowing artists to transport their audiences to anywhere they dream of. In this workshop, students will begin their 3D modeling journey. They will practice hard-surface modeling, which includes objects such as props and environments. Students will start with the basics of breaking down complex objects into simple, primitive shapes, they will implement fundamental tools and hot keys to create a fully realized 3D digital model.

3D RENDERING
In this workshop, students will take a stop later in the pipeline to dive into the art of lighting, staging, and rendering 3D scenes. Lighting and rendering are crucial jobs required to bring a 3D scene to life, creating different moods and feelings throughout their audiences. However, it is an artform that often gets overlooked. In this workshop, students will learn how to set up lights, set up cameras for a dynamic scene, and understand how to create renders in Blender.
